About Us
HIAMUN, an annual student-led Model United Nations conference established in 2010, has grown exponentially catering to hundreds of delegates from schools across Egypt and abroad. HIAMUN’s mission is committed to being a supportive, inclusive community where all levels of delegates can dive into rigorous debates, forge lasting connections, and set off on their journeys to becoming global changemakers. HIAMUN is a THIMUN-affiliated conference, a non-governmental organization based in The Hague that accredits the most prestigious MUN conferences around the world.
HIAMUN hosts a different theme every year. The inaugural theme of Glass Ceilings in 2014 began an ongoing tradition that led to many influential themes over the years such as Pangea, Revival, and Synapses making every conference feel well-connected and specialized. In hopes of building relations and promoting collaboration between schools across Egypt, HIAMUN initiated MUNE, a council that aims to enhance and unify MUN conferences in Egypt. Along with hosting distinguished guest speakers who shed light on work ethic and global issues, this conference is also proud of its commitment to giving back to the community by raising funds for various NGOs and causes such as Bahia, The Red Crescent, and others. The conference is a proud member of MUN Impact, helping promote SDGs and create positive change in communities around us. Over the past 10 years, HIAMUN has raised around 750,000 Egyptian pounds for charitable causes related to SDG goals. HIAMUN's annual conferences remain a hallmark of collaboration, academic rigor, and community service, consistently delivering an enriching experience for participants while supporting important charitable initiatives and the wider community.
The conference challenges delegates in all their forums to think critically and engage with global issues, emphasizing inclusivity, teamwork, and community service to prepare future leaders and contribute to a globally aware society. HIAMUN is committed to establishing and pursuing goals for expansion and development.
